Introducing the Plate Buddy!
I’ve plated a lot of cars on set. Whether it is background with cars, cop cars on a crime scene, or taxis on a New York street.
I’ve tried the magnets, which are great, but I’ve found that a couple of strips of butyl and a nice firm push is the most efficient, ubiquitous way to plate lots of cars quickly. So many picture cars come without mounts or holes, so even hard plating is often out of the question.
But what happens when suddenly the camera is pointed right at your obviously stuck-on license plates?
That’s why I developed the Plate Buddy!
Plate buddy, back and finished front
It’s a very simple snap on fake license plate screw 3d printed from PLA plastic.
You simply press it through the hole until you hear that satisfying “click” and suddenly those butyled plates look like they’ve been bolted on!
Movie Magic !! It’s designed and tested for plastic and metal license plates alike and works with ISS, HPR Graphics, and Earl Hayes plates along with the real deals.
To remove simply press from the other side and they will pop right out to be used again.
They’ve made my life easier, hopefully they will makes yours too!
